INFORMATION


TRANSPORTATION

1. School transportation is made available to all students residing in Sharjah, Ajman, Dubai, Umm Al Quwain. For all matters concerning transportation, parents are required to contact Momentum’s office (school transportation office).


2. School transportation service will be charged on a per-month basis. The transportation fee should be paid prior to the 5th of every month failing which; the service will be discontinued with immediate effect.


3. Parents who want their child to avail DES transportation should complete the Transportation Registration form and make the necessary payments, five business days prior to the commencement of the service.


4. Transportation fee is for the entire month. If a student avails only a single day of transportation, the entire month’s transportation charges will be due. If a student opts out of this service during the month, no refund or adjustments will be made.


5. In the event of change in bus stops due to change in residence, the parent must send a request via the school calendar and Momentum will subsequently send a Bus Stop Transfer Application, which the parent must duly complete and return. The change will be effective only after five business days from the date of submission of the application.


6. Pick-up and drop-off points are fixed by Momentum as per the application submitted by the parent. Bus Operators will only adhere to the pick-up and drop-off points directed by Momentum.


7. The bus timing for each pick-up and drop-off point is pre-determined by Momentum and is listed on the respective route maps. The buses will not wait at any bus stop beyond the specified timing. Hence parents are requested to ensure that his/her ward is present at the stop in advance.


8. Although Momentum attempts to ensure that each bus adheres strictly to the route maps and its scheduled timings, delay may occur due to unforeseen traffic conditions. In such cases the parents are requested to kindly co-operate with Momentum.


9. In case of unforeseen incidents which cause significant delay, Momentum will attempt to contact the respective parents explaining the situation and providing the tentative arrival of the bus.


10. As per Momentum’s regulation, students will not be left at a drop off point unless a designated individual is present to receive the student. In the event where no designated individual is present, the student will be brought back to the school. In such cases, Momentum will intimate the parent/guardian and it is his/her responsibility to pick-up the ward from the school at the earliest. Please note that the responsibility of school authorities ceases immediately after school hours.


11. Parents, who insist on having his/her ward left at a drop-off point without being received by a designated individual, may do so by mentioning the same in the Transportation Registration form.


12. Casual change of bus stops for a single or couple of days is not permitted.


13. In case of emergency and the parent/guardian does not wish his/her ward from riding the bus, he/she should inform Momentum and not the Bus Operators. The cutoff time to inform Momentum is as follows:


Kindergarten 1 - On or before 9:30AM (of that particular school day).

Kindergarten 2 & Above - On or before 10:30 AM (of that particular school day).


14. If a student signs up to avail DES transportation, it remains so until, a completed Transportation Withdrawal form is submitted by the parent and is approved by Momentum. Hence, the parent/guardian is requested not to pick-up and/or drop-off his/her ward as and when time permits.


15. If the parent/guardian wishes to discontinue his/her ward from availing DES transportation, he/she should complete and submit the Transportation Withdrawal form, five business days prior to the proposed date of discontinuation.


16. Bus Operators contacted via telephone regarding change in bus stops, discontinuing DES transportation, or any other matter which bypasses the rules of Momentum is unacceptable. All correspondence should be made through Momentum.


17. Each DES bus is driven by a certified Bus Operator and is assisted by a certified Bus Attendant. All DES buses are under the management of Momentum, which ensures the compliance of bus operations with stipulations from transportation authorities. Bus Operators and Bus Attendants undergo rigorous training and instruction in safe driving, conducted by Momentum.


18. Momentum ensures that all DES vehicles, Bus Operators, Bus Attendants, and passengers are covered under insurance. In case of any claim due to accident, Momentum’s and DES’ liability is limited to comprehensive compensation covered by the insurance agency, as per the terms set forth in the insurance policy.


19. Students are expected to cooperate with DES in ensuring the school buses remain in good condition. Momentum requires that the following requirements to be met by all students while riding the bus:


  • a. Follow the Bus Operator’s and Bus Attendant’s directions at all times.
  • b. Enter and leave the bus in an orderly manner at the designated pick-up/drop-off point. Only students with their Delta ID will be permitted to board the bus.
  • c. Keep feet, books, and other objects out of the bus aisle.
  • d. Do not vandalize the bus or its equipment.
  • e. Do not place head, hands, arms, legs out of the window, hold any object out of the window, or throw objects within or out of the bus.
  • f. Do not create excessive noise in the bus.
  • g. Be seated while the vehicle is in motion.
  • h. Exit the bus only on receiving the Bus Attendant’s signal. When exiting the bus, always cross from front of the bus.


20. Students are expected to adhere to the Student Code of Conduct and the directions above while riding the bus. Parents should compensate Momentum for any damage sustained by the bus or other passengers as a result of inappropriate action caused by his/her ward.


21. Students availing their own transportation should be dropped off at school only after 7:00 AM as the school gates open exactly at 7:00 AM.


22. Students availing their own transportation should be picked up immediately after school hours. It should be noted that the responsibility of school authorities ceases immediately after school hours.


23. Parents who come to drop-off or pick-up his/her ward are not allowed to interact with other students or staff without prior authorization from the Administration.


24. Honking vehicles outside the school gates is prohibited at all times. This is for the safety and security of the students.
